Nationwide volunteers provide business planning insight for charities
As part of National Volunteers’ Week 2011, a team from Nationwide Building Society’s Group Strategy and Planning department offered their business skills and helped make a real difference in the local community.
Staff provided guidance on business planning and strategy to a group of 21 charities at a full day workshop. They provided insight into current economic conditions and gave background on the importance and fundamentals of creating a robust business plan. The team also offered the opportunity for charities to send in their business plans for review and feedback from experts at Nationwide.
Representatives from Swindon charities such as Open Door, Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Inner Flame and Music Alive attended the session hosted at Alexandra House in Wroughton.
The event was a huge success with really positive feedback from the charities.
“We were very impressed by the workshop; it got us moving on the Business Plan, making it seem less of an insurmountable task. The follow up is also a really good idea, as it keeps the momentum going. The venue was brilliant and everything was set up well, with paper work that was easy to follow. Thank you to all involved in arranging these sessions.” Open Door Swindon
