Swindon Sea Cadets are looking for some new volunteers to join their management committee to help with the strategic decision making for the organisation and supporting with their activities.
The management committee meets every 4 – 6 weeks for a couple of hours in the Sea Cadet Unit in Upham Road, Old Town.
We are particularly looking for a Secretary and a Treasurer but would also welcome enquiries for general committee members.
You are not expected to attend the weekly unit meetings if you aren’t able to (but you’d be very welcome if you wanted to).
Swindon Sea Cadets TS Resolution is celebrating over 80 years of serving the local community. The unit continues to provide a safe and structured environment for the young people of Swindon, allowing them to participate in a wide range of constructive activities that not only better the community but also allows these young people to better themselves. We place a strong emphasis on having some fun whilst learning new skills and developing the cadets’ sense of personal values. All of our activities are based on the best traditions of the Royal Navy and we give the cadets many opportunities to interact with the Royal Navy and participate in many waterborne activities.
The cadets also participate in many worthwhile community events, helping with other charitable organisation fundraising events etc. such as local carnivals, youth days, SSAFA fundraising events, Prospect fundraising events , Mad March Hare Runs, Lions Christmas/Old Town parades, and of course Veteran remembrance services.
Flexible – meetings arranged to suit committee members
