About 40 volunteers from Nationwide distributed leaflets and signed up possible participants for this Autumn’s SMASH DASH. Between them they got rid of something like 4000 leaflets and signed up 25 teams and individuals on the day.
One person was responsible for 14 of those and even signed up the soldiers who were collecting for another charity at Asda.
The other teams handed out leaflets at Nationwide of course but also at Thames Water, Intel, The Co-op in old town, the town centre and other venues.
SMASH DASH will be launched in the press in the next week or so but we already have enough people to make it a viable event and there are also some folk at Nationwide who may be able to marshal the event for us too. There is also talk of the Nationwide Equestrian Club doing the event on horseback.
I’d call that a successful day! Rob Chappell, Project Manager at SMASH
